How to choose

A solid-colored rug demands more of the wool, not less.

In a pattern, any unevenness between motifs disappears. On a solid surface, you don't have that coverage: every stroke of the loom and every variation in the wool remains visible. That is why the longest fibers are used here, and the pile is hand-sheared to an even height after knotting.

Choose the color based on the light in the room, not the light in the store. Wool with a long pile reads cooler in the morning and warmer in the evening than you see in a photograph.
